President's Message

Dear IMA Carolinas Council Area Members,

We are excited to kick off this year’s IMA Council activities and collaboration among the regional Carolina events.  We would be remiss if we did not start this update with our sincere gratitude for all the wonderful work this year's council board has done and continues to serve in our communities. Their inspiration and leadership by example further support our IMA mission.   Your council board consists of the following members and leaders:

Teresa Madden Self, Treasurer and Chapter Liaison to Greenville

Kathy Santos Resendez, Co-Webmaster

Catherine Sabodish, Secretary, Co-Webmaster and Chapter Liaison to NC Triangle

Ken Davidson, Co-Chair Annual Conference and Chapter Liaison to Charlotte

Tony Caspio, NASBA Coordinator, Student Relations, Chair Scholarship Committee, and Chapter Liaison to Spartanburg

We would like to share with you some notable achievements your Council has completed so far this year.

  • We completed an annual conference offering 16 hours of NASBA approved continuing professional education on July 24 – 25, 2025 in Charlotte NC at the Discovery Place. 
  • We renewed our NASBA registry and supported a chapter with an NASBA approved CPE offering.
  • We are actively working on understanding the health of the chapters in our council region and where needed, helping any chapters, including the recently restarted Spartanburg Area chapter . 
  • We have started organizing our annual conference. Our plan is to have this event on April 16 – 17, 2026 at Discovery Place in Charlotte, NC. Further information is in development and will be shared over the next month.
